A Notebook With A Quad-Core CPU?

You have to scroll down through the list of available options to see it, but it’s there.  The only 2 CPU options are both Quad-Core desktop CPUs!  At first glance, you might think that this is a typo, but a quick call to the sales confirmed it.

Too bad there aren't options for a screen larger than 17 inches.  A laptop with this much horsepower could certainly use more screen real estate.
"With four execution cores, the Intel® Core™2 Quad processor blows through processor-intensive tasks in demanding multitasking environments and makes the most of highly threaded applications. Whether you're creating multimedia, annihilating your gaming enemies, or running compute-intensive applications at one time, new quad-core processing will change the way you do everything. Pioneer the new world of quad-core and unleash the power of multithreading."
The high-end features don’t end there.  The 17” laptop can come with up to 4GB of RAM, and of course, SSDs are becoming an obligatory option on any high-end laptop these days.  Perhaps the biggest surprise options (outside the CPUs) is that customers can also have their laptop outfitted with twin GeForce 8700M GTs in SLI!

Battery life is…well, you might need to have a stopwatch to figure that one out, but this is nothing but a pure and powerful desktop replacement system; we wouldn’t expect all these features to last hours on end without access to an electrical socket.
