Acer Announces 28-Inch XB280HK Monitor With 4K Resolution And NVIDIA G-SYNC

Two of the hottest technologies in the display category right now are 4K Ultra HD and NVIDIA G-SYNC. What happens when you combine the two? You end up with Acer's XB270H, a 28-inch 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) display with a 60Hz refresh rate, blazing fast 1ms response time, and G-SYNC to keep things honest.

The XB280HK is one of two new XBO Series of gaming displays by Acer, the other being a 27-inch Full HD 1080p monitor (XB270H) with a 144Hz refresh rate. Like its bigger brother, it too sports a 1ms response time and is infused with NVIDIA G-SYNC.

Acer XB280HK

"We’re excited to bring these first-rate gaming displays to gamers in the United States and Canada," said Ronald Lau, Acer America business manager. "The incredibly sharp and smooth images provided by NVIDIA G-SYNC technology are sure to thrill the most avid gamers. Combined with Acer’s highly flexibly ergonomic stand, non-glare ComfyView panel and low dimming technology, users are assured long hours of both comfortable and visually stunning game play."

What G-SYNC does is make sure every frame rendered by the GPU is synchronized with the monitor's refresh rate. This eliminates screen tearing and minimizes display stutter and input lag for an overall smooth and fast gaming experience without worrying about any fancy settings.

Acer XB280HK ErgoStand

Both of Acer's XBO monitors sport a multi-function ErgoStand that tilts from -5 to -35 degrees, is height adjustable by 5.9 inches, and rotates 120 degrees from left to right. It also pivots from horizontal to vertical (landscape to portrait).

The XB270H is available now for $599 MSRP, while the XB280HK will be available next month for $799 MSRP.
