Acer Announces New AIOs For Consumers & Commercial Applications

Acer is rolling out new lines of AIO desktops aimed at the consumer and commercial markets--the AZ5 and AZ3, and the Veriton Z2620G and Z2610G, respectively.

The AZ5s feature 23-inch full HD multitouch widescreen displays, clear.fi technology for easy media organization and network connectivity with devices around the home, and a pair of built-in 2.5W speakers. A Core i3-2120, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and a 1TB hard drive are under the hood.

The AZ3s have slightly smaller screens at 21.5 inches, but they’re still full HD multitouch widescreens. These machines run on AMD chips, with at least one of the processor options a 2.7GHz AMD Dual-Core A4-3400 Accelerated Processor with AMD Radeon HD6410D graphics. They also have 2.5W speakers, a 500GB 7200RPM HDD, and an optical drive.

Both the AZ5 and AZ3 lines feature a 1.3MP webcam, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, multi-in-one card reader, 802.11b/g/n, and a wireless keyboard and mouse. The AZ5 starts at $749.99, while the AZ3 starts at $649.99.

For the commercial sector, Acer has the slim Veriton Z2620G and Z2610G series of AIOs, with 20-inch widescreen displays for the sake of desktop space in offices. The Z2620G features a quad-core Intel Core i5-2400s (2.5GHz, 3.30GHz Turbo) and NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M and starts at $849.99; the Z2610G runs on a dual-core Intel Pentium G620 (2.6GHz) and Intel HD Graphics and starts at $649.99.

Both AIOs have 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, but they also have two free memory slots, so you can upgrade them to 8GB. The systems also have a 500GB HDD and SuperMulti optical drives.

In terms of software, the commercial models sport Acer Proshield, which has an ecrypted hidden drive and a file shredder; Acer One-Button Recovery (OBR) for easy backup/restore; Acer Client Manager, so IT can easily deploy software and control to clients; and more.
