Acer Launches Aspire 5750, 5750G And 7750G Laptops At CES
It's a new year, and for those that follow the tech industry, they know that a new year brings new platforms, new CPUs, new GPUs and new designs. There's nothing quite like CES, and Acer is using the Las Vegas show to introduce a load of new notebooks for 2011. Acer is launching new machines in conjunction with Intel's Sandy Bridge announcement, so we won't waste any time getting down to the nuts and bolts of it all.
Acer's new notebooks feature their own clear.fi home entertainment solution for sharing content in the home, and Intel's new Core i7-2630Q can be found in the Aspire 5750, 5750G and 7750G. All of those can hold two DDR3 SODIMMs (up to 8GB), up to 640GB of hard drive space, and graphics solutions from both AMD and NVIDIA. The 5750G is one of the first machines to market with the GeForce GT 540M, which supports DirectX 11 and offers NVIDIA's Optimus graphics switching technology. The 7750G notebooks have Radeon HD 6550 and 6650 graphics.
The entire trio uses LED-backlit displays, with the 5750 and 5750G having a 15.6" 1366x768 panel, the 7750G having a 17.3" 1600x900 panel, and all of them having an HDMI output. As a bonus, the 7750G model can be ordered with a Blu-ray drive. The new Aspire 5750, 5750G and 7750G notebooks will be available for U.S. customers on Jan. 9 at select retailers, with prices beginning at $899.99 for the Aspire 5750 and 5750G, and $1029.99 for the Aspire 7750G.
Moving on to the more practical range, the company is introducing the Aspire 5253 Series, which offers up to 320GB of HDD space, 4GB of DDR3 memory, Radeon HD 6310 graphics, an HDMI output, and a starting price of $449.99. All four of the machines mentioned here ship with 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet, and the Acer Crystal Eye 1.3MP HD webcam. They also have Windows 7 Home Premium and Office 2010 Starter loaded on.
