Acer Reveals New Compact Veriton SFF Desktop Systems

New desktops? Acer's got 'em by the truckload. The company has just rolled out a new line of Veriton desktops for the U.S. professional market, with Intel's newest Core i5 CPUs and NVIDIA's GeForce 6150 graphics leading things up. They pack a lot of punch in a small form factor, as these are ideally designed to slip under desks and generally function in crowded spaces.

The Acer Veriton L4610G ultra small form factor (USFF) and Veriton X2110 Series small form factor (SFF) desktops are the new kids on the block, with the former housed in a compact 10 liter case measuring just 2.4-inches (W) x 9.8-inches (D) x 7.6-inches (H). Two different builds of this are being made available; one with an Intel Core i5 processor / 4GB of RAM, and another with a Core i3 chip and 2GB of RAM. Both have integrated Intel HD graphics chipsets, and each has a 320GB SATA HDD, a mini-PCI Express 1.1 slot and Acer's One-Button Recovery (OBR) function on the L4610G.

The Veriton X2110 series goes AMD, with the Athlon 260 and 4GB of memory powering it. There's a GPU boost with NVIDIA's 6150SE, as well as eight USB 2.0 ports, a PCI Express 1.1 x1 slot and a PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot. The Acer Veriton L4610G and Veriton X2110 desktops are available in North America via Acer authorized resellers now. Pricing for the Veriton L4610G Series begins at just $599 and the Veriton X2110 Series begins at $379.

Housed in a compact 10 liter case measuring just 2.4-inches (W) x 9.8-inches (D) x 7.6-inches (H), the understated black and silver design blends in with most offices and fits within tight spaces, ideal for cube environments and classrooms.

There are two different models available: one with an Intel® Core™ i5 processor (6MB smart cache, 2.5GHz, 4 cores) and 4GB memory and another with an Intel® Core™ i3 processor (3MB smart cache, 3.1GHz, 2 cores) and 2GB memory. Both desktops leverage Intel® HD graphics for sharp visuals and 320GB(1) SATA hard drives for storing and archiving professional files. For expansion, a Mini PCI Express® 1.1 slot is provided for additional audio, storage or cable connections.

The Veriton L4610G Series also offers Acer's One-Button Recovery (OBR) function, which removes the hassle associated with backing up and/or restoring a PC's data.
