Acer Launches XZ1 Series 144Hz FreeSync WQHD HDR10 Curved Gaming Monitors
Both monitors feature a WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, and rock 144Hz VA panels with a 1ms response time (it should be noted that 144Hz refresh rates are supported with both DisplayPort and HDMI). Both support HDR10, but we're only looking at maximum brightness of 250 and 300 cd/m2 respectively for the XZ271U and XZ321QU. Those brightness levels are really on the low side, so we'll have to wait until we get out hands on the monitors before we can give you a good idea of how HDR performance stacks up to the competition.
Both the XZ271U and XZ321QU support AMD FreeSync, with dynamic refresh rates between 48Hz and 144Hz (Low Frame Rate capabilities are also baked in thanks to this coverage). The displays also support Acer Black Boost, which dynamically adjust panel brightness to enhance black levels in dark scenes to give gamers an advantage when fragging enemies.
Other features of note include a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 100 percent sRGB coverage and 85 percent of the NTSC color space. There’s also a 1800R curvature for both monitors. On the connectivity side, you'll find a built-in 4-port USB 3.0 hub, one DisplayPort 1.2, one mini DisplayPort 1.2, and two HDMI 2.0 ports. There are also two built-in 7-watt speakers along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Amazon is currently listing the 27-inch XZ271U and the 31.5-inch XZ321QU at $529 and $549.99 respectively.
