ADATA's SP900 an SP800 Series Solid State Drives Touch Ground in the U.S.

ADATA is making preparations for the upcoming Computex convention in Taiwan next month but found time to make what could be its last product announcement before then. Launching today is ADATA's new Premier Pro SP900 and Premier SP800 solid state drive (SSD) families with new optimized firmware, both of which are available in the U.S. and just north of the border.

Starting at the top, the Premier Pro SP900 is available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities. These drives boast SATA 6Gbps interfaces and offer read/write speeds of up to 550/520MB per second, along with maximum random 4K write speeds of 85,000 IOPS.

For those with more modest needs, the SATA 3Gbps-based Premier SP800 comes in 32GB and 64GB flavors and offers sequential read/write speeds of 280/260MB per second, along with up to 44,000 IOPS maximum random 4K write performance.

Both drives support the TRIM command and come with a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch bracket and Acronis True Image HD software.
