Alleged AMD Radeon HD 3870 X2

Pictures of something that the nice boys at ChipHell (is that where bad chips go when they die?) are alleging is an actual Radeon HD 3870 X2 have surfaced and apparently it's a tad on the large side.  The card pictured below supposedly has a pair of RV670 GPUs under its hood.  Let's have a look-see...

777 MHz GPU, 1GB of 2.25 GHz GDDR3?

Hmm... Indeed, not one but two GPU heatsink blocks are visible underneath that cooling shroud.  Of course it's fun to flitter around in rumor and speculation but you can believe it when (if) you see it on the benchmark charts here at HH, which we're told should be sometime in January.
