Alleged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Final Fantasy XIV Benchmarks Leak

At the moment, NVIDIA's current-generation Turing GPU family consists of three graphics cards: the GeForce RTX 2070RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti. However, according to multiple reports, there will be a new, cheaper entry to the family in the coming months.

The alleged entry-level graphics card has shown up in the leaktastic Final Fantasy XV benchmark. What’s interesting is that the card is listed as the GeForce RTX 2060, while other reports have suggested that the card would be called the GeForce GTX 2060 since it wouldn't provide adequate real-time ray tracing performance for modern games (a la Battlefield V).

In fact, some have reported that the card might not have real-time ray tracing enabled at all. So, while these benchmarks might have the RTX 2060 label applied for now, we wouldn’t count on that translating if it does indeed reach production. But we digress…

Using the High Quality settings at 4K resolution, the GeForce RTX 2060 manages to outpace both the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q by a fair margin in the Final Fantasy XIV Benchmark, but comes up short against the GeForce GTX 1070

Compared to the GeForce RTX 2070, the GeForce RTX 2060 is well behind (2589 versus 3930). However, given its positioning in the GeForce RTX lineup, this is to be expected. We'd imagine this card excelling at 1440p and lower resolutions while gaming, with 4K being out of reach for all but the most basic games (unless image quality settings are turned way down).

Given that we haven’t heard much about this rumored GeForce RTX GTX 2060, we’ll have to take the above results with a healthy dose of salt at the moment.
