Alleged Samsung Galaxy S10 Leak Shows Off Punch Hole Infinity-O Display

The likely debut of the Samsung Galaxy S10 is probably roughly two months away, which means that the number of leaks is starting to ramp up. With this in mind, one of the best leakers in the business is giving us an early look at one of the upcoming Galaxy S10 variants that will be released in 2019.

This leak comes from Evan Blass, of course, who claims that the image portrays the device codenamed Beyond 1. This particular Galaxy S10 device, which is a step up from the entry-level Galaxy S10 Lite (Beyond 0), is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch display and dual rear cameras. It is also expected to have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded in the display instead of the traditional rear placement below the cameras.

But of course, the defining feature as seen in the image above is the Infinity-O display. We first saw Samsung’s implementation of the “punch hole” display with the Galaxy A8s that launched back in December. This represents the latest evolution of the display notch that infiltrated flagship Android smartphones during 2018.

Samsung’s solution to accommodate the selfie camera definitely wastes less display real estate than traditional notches, but it remains to be seen if it will be any less annoying during regular use. The bezels around the display appear relative slim, although there appears to be some additional thickness at the bottom of the display.

We’re expecting that U.S. market Galaxy S10 devices will come with Qualcomm’s new 7nm Snapdragon 855 SoC and will incorporate 4G LTE technology. However, a Beyond X variant is rumored to be the flagship model and it will come with a huge 6.7-inch display, dual selfie cameras, four rear cameras and a 5G connectivity courtesy of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 modem.
