Amazon Unveils All-New Kindle With Adjustable Front Light For $90

Heavy readers who are tired of looking at the glossy screen of a tablet or schlepping down to the local book store for new titles will appreciate Amazon's latest Kindle. It's simply called the all-new Kindle, and it's the first Kindle with a front light that retails for under $100. The front light allows the brightness of the tablet to be adjusted for more comfortable reading in any environment.

Amazon gave the new Kindle an updated design, and it uses the latest electronic ink technology for improved contrast. The updated screen is a 6-inch 167 ppi offering with four LED backlights and capacitive touch. Internal storage for the device is 4GB giving enough space for an extensive library of reading material. Amazon doesn't specify the size of the internal battery but promises it's good for weeks of reading. The reader includes three months of free Kindle Unlimited which includes titles from some of the most popular authors around at no cost.

Other features include WiFi connectivity and integrated Bluetooth. The integrated wireless allows you to stream titles from Audible and other sources. The catch to the $89.99 price for the new Kindle is that the device comes with special offers which are ads displayed on some of the screens of the digital reader. You can get the all-new Kindle without special offers for $109.99.

The new Kindle comes in white or black colors and is up for pre-order and will ship on April 10. Amazon is offering current Kindle owners a trade offer that will give whatever their current Kindle is worth on a gift card and a 25% discount on a new device.
