Amazon And Google Now Offering $0.99 Movie Rentals So You Can Binge Over The Holidays

It’s not free, but it’s pretty darn close to it. Both Amazon and Google announced today that they are offering customers a single movie rental for the low, low price of $0.99 starting today. For those that simply want to veg out on the couch during the lead-up to Christmas Day, these promotions offer a quick and cheap escape.

If you prefer to go the Google route, you can make a quick trip over to the Google Play Movies & TV section and select from thousands of eligible movies (including some 2016 blockbusters). Just a quick glance over the list shows some popular films like Pets, Jason Bourne, Sully, Star Trek Beyond and The Magnificent Seven. There are also some holiday classics like A Christmas Story, Home Alone, Elf, and Christmas Vacation.

All you have to do is add a movie rental to your cart and it will automatically be discounted upon checkout.

On the Amazon side of things, the online retailer has nearly 50,000 titles to choose from. We might suggest Die Hard, which is most definitely a Christmas movie, despite what some misguided people might say. You will need to enter the code “MOVIE99” during checkout to get the discounted pricing, and is available to use once per account.

Both Google and Amazon’s promotions are good through January 23rd, 2017.
