Amazon Announces Enticing Alexa-Exclusive ‘Voice Deals’ For Echo Owners

Online shopping may seem like the modern thing to do, but if you're moving your mouse and pecking away at your keyboard (or tapping on your touchscreen), you might already be behind the curve. That will be the case if voice shopping takes hold, as Amazon would like to see happen. From now until Monday, Amazon Prime members can shop online using their voice.

This is Amazon's first ever voice shopping weekend event. Of course for this to work you need to own an Alexa-enabled device. There are several out there, including the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, Amazon Tap, Fire HD tablet, and Fire TV. If you happen to have one, just say, "Alexa, what are your deals" each day to hear what items are on sale.

"This is the first holiday that Prime members will be able to use their voice to shop and we’re excited to offer exclusive deals they won’t find anywhere else," said Assaf Ronen, Vice President Voice Shopping. "Voice shopping with Alexa takes the hassle out of the holidays, giving customers the ability to order from millions of items simply by saying the word. And, the fun doesn’t stop after this weekend. Make sure to ask ‘Alexa, what are your deals?’ every day because we’ll have exciting deals throughout the holiday season and beyond."

Here's a look at some of today's Alexa-exclusive voice deals:
  • AmazonBasics AA Batteries 48-Pack: $8.74 (down from $12.49)
  • Cocoon by Sealy Firm Foam Mattress Queen: $479.20 (down from $599)
  • Sphero Star Wars BB-8 App Controlled Robot: $97.99 (down from $127.99)
  • Presto! 96% Biobased Liquid Laundry Detergent 2-Pack: $10 (down from $19.99)

  • Samsung 32-inch 1080p LED TV UN32J5003 : $119 (down from $197)
You don't have to be super specific when taking advantage of one of these deals. For example, to order the 32-inch Samsung TV, you would simply say, "Alexa, order a Samsung TV." Since this is part of a special shopping event, Alexa already knows which TV you're talking about. Same goes for the 48-pack of batteries ("Alexa, order AA batteries") and the other items.

If you don't have an Alexa-enabled device handy, you can go here to check out the daily deals.
