Amazon Father's Day Sale Brings Big Discounts On Echo, Fire TV, Kindles

Fire TV
Being a dad isn't always easy. Rewarding? Sure, especially when getting involved with coaching youth sports or other activities. If your dad is awesome, here's a heads up that Father's Day is right around the corner (this Sunday, June 17). Here's another heads up that Amazon is having a Father's Day sale with markdowns on a bunch of electronics, in case you want to reward pops with something other than a shirt and tie combo this time around.

Not that he would flinch at adding another tie to the rack, because dads don't do what they do for the gifts. And that is all the more reason to treat him to something nice this Father's Day. If you're looking for ideas, you've come to the right place. One option to consider is Amazon's Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD and Alexa Voice Remote. It's on sale for $50, down from $70, and will take his channel surfing to a new level.

This is the latest version of the Fire TV with a pendant design (as opposed to the Fire TV Stick), with support for 4K resolution displays and HDR. It sports a quad-core processor inside that makes it 40 percent more powerful than the Fire TV Stick, for a smoother and more responsive experience.

If he's more into reading than watching TV, Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite e-reader is on sale for $100, down from $120. Cosmetically, you can choose between black and white color schemes. Functionally, the Kindle Paperwhite offers up a higher resolution display than previous versions, with 300 pixels per inch squeezed into the 6-inch display (versus 167 pixels per inch on the regular Kindle). It also has 4GB of built-in storage, four-LED backlight, and "weeks" of battery life.

Amazon Echo

Another option is the 2nd generation Echo smart speaker. Amazon has it marked down to $80 (down from $100) for the black, Charcoal Fabric, Heather Gray Fabric, and Sandstone Fabric color options, and $100 (down from $120) for the Oak Finish and Walnut Finish variants.

Regardless of the color option, every Echo smart speaker is the same in terms of functionality, with built in Alexa support to play music, make phone calls, or even order a pizza. There is a lot more competition in the smart speaker space this day, but Alexa is key here, as it's still the most skilled digital assistant in the smart speaker arena.

If your dad already has a set of speakers that he uses for music, a nice companion is the 2nd generation Echo Dot, now on sale for $40 (down from $50). It connects to existing speakers or headphones via Bluetooth or a 3.5mm stereo capable for hands-free access to Alexa.

There are other items on sale, too. Hit the via link below to browse them all, and here's an early 'Happy dad's day!' to all the pops out there!
