AMD Radeon RX 5700 Navi Gaming Card Retail Packaging Leaks Ahead Of July 7th Launch
One of things that we hadn't see until now is the retail packaging for the cards. However, thanks to momomo_us, we have some excellent looks at the retail packaging for all of the cards: Radeon RX 5700, Radeon RX 5700 XT and Radeon RX 5700 XT 50Anniversary Edition.
The Radeon RX 5700 comes in a relatively staid box that opens from the end and slides out. The card itself is nestled under a top tray that likely holds documentation and card accessories.
The Radeon RX 5700 XT and Radeon RX 5700 XT 50Anniversary Edition, however, have a more elaborate box design that is actually split down the middle, lengthwise. Then, the whole upper portion of the box lifts up revealing the graphics card. The Radeon RX 5700 and Radeon RX 5700 XT feature AMD's traditional red accents on their packaging, while the Radeon RX 5700 XT 50Anniversary Edition uses gold accenting to make it stand out.
AMD's trio of Navi-based graphics cards will launch on Sunday alongside the new Ryzen 3000 family of Zen 2 consumer desktop processors. The Radeon RX 5700, Radeon RX 5700 XT, and Radeon RX 5700 XT 50Anniversary Edition are priced at $379, $449, and $499 respectively. All three are aimed at a gaming sweet spot in the GeForce RTX 2060 and GeForce RTX 2070 performance class.
AMD had hoped to have this early July launch window all to itself, but NVIDIA crashed the party yesterday with the announcement of the GeForce RTX 2060 Super and GeForce RTX 2070 Super. Those cards are priced at $399 and $499 respectively, and might further complicate AMD's ability to offer a compelling performance bargain in this sector.
However, we'll have to wait until the first Radeon RX 5700 reviews hit the airwaves to see how close of a fight this will be...
