AMD Radeon RX 590 Prices Tumble To Battle GeForce GTX 1660 Super
AMD's hardware partners have begun slashing prices on Radeon RX 590 graphics cards, the timing of which coincides with rival NVIDIA's launch of the GeForce GTX 1660 Super. While it could be a coincidence (not really), the two cards compete in the same performance segment, so a price reduction at this point in time makes sense.
Quite as bit has transpired since the Radeon RX 590 first rolled into the scene around a year ago. Essentially a refresh of Polaris, a GPU architecture that is now two generations old (behind Navi and Vega), it debuted at $279 (MSRP) and earned HotHardware's coveted Editor's Choice award.
It's a less compelling card in the current landscape, though not irrelevant, particularly if you can snag one at a discount. And you can, right now. Here's a look at some at the lowest priced variants we have found...

You can also find the PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon RX 590 for $189.99 on Amazon, which is a few bucks cheaper than Newegg. The listing does not implicitly state it comes with the aforementioned perks, though it should qualify. Should you pounce, though? There's no right or wrong answer, it just depends what you are in the market for, what games you play, and at what resolution. The Radeon RX 590 is a couple of generations old, though generally speaking, is still very good for gaming at 1080p. And now that prices have fallen below $200 on some of them, it remains a card worth considering.
