AMD's next generation socket (dubbed M2) has shown up on the internet in the way of a few spy shots that can be seen on this Italian website. Despite needing a translator, the article does provide a wealth of information strictly from the images alone. Here, you'll find a nice range of shtos including the processor, the new socket, and even a shot of the socket on a motherboard with the mounting orienation for the heatsink assembly. Interesting stuff for sure, though it still leaves us wondering if and when Intel and AMD could pick a single socket that would last for more than a few years.
