Anonymous Declares Total War On Donald Trump’s ‘Hateful’ Campaign With Planned DDoS Attacks
One group that is decidedly in the “against” camp is Anonymous. Anonymous is apparently fed up with Trump and his meteoric rise during the Republican primaries, and has declared “Total War” on the presidential candidate.
"Dear Donald Trump, we have been watching you for a long time and what we see is deeply disturbing," reads a masked figure with a computerized voice. “Your inconsistent and hateful campaign has not only shocked the United States of America, you have shocked the entire planet with your appealing action and ideas. You say what your current audience wants to hear, but in reality you don’t stand for anything except for your personal greed and power.”
As a result, Anonymous is calling on “fellow hackers” to “protect our future, our freedom, and our way of life.” Anonymous calls for an all-out war against Trump, asking hackers to target his websites and dig up as much dirt on him as possible to “dismantle his campaign and sabotage his brand.”
Anonymous is labeling its offensive #OpTrump and is calling on every able-bodied person with a computer to join the fight. The first organized strike is set to occur on April 1, when Anonymous calls on hackers around the world to target trumpchicago.com.
Donald Trump is just the latest in a long list of people, organizations, and even countries that Anonymous has targeted for attack. The “hacktivists” have previously launched cyberattacks against countries like Hungary and Turkey, and have repeatedly targeted terrorist organizations like ISIS. Hitting more close to home, Anonymous has openly engaged hate groups like the KKK and religious organizations like Scientology.
