BioWare's Anthem Demo Now Preloading, Minimum And Recommended PC Specs Revealed

There are certainly a lot of gamers out there who have been waiting in anticipation for the demo of the EA and Bioware game Anthem to land. Before the alpha test of the game wrapped up, EA and Bioware fought a leak from a streamer that broke the NDA and saw his Origin game library nuked in the process. The demo, essentially the beta test, is set to kick off January 25, 2019, at 9 AM PT for VIP players. To be a VIP player, you need to subscribe to Origin/EA Access/Premium or pre-order the game. The VIP demo will end Sunday, January 27 at 8 PM PT.

If you don't want to subscribe or pre-order the game, don't fret you can get in on the demo action, just at a later date. The normal demo event starts Friday, February 1 at 9 AM PT and ends Sunday, February 3 at 8 PM. Each person accepted into the VIP demo will get three keys that can be gifted to besties allowing them to get into the game demo. The Anthem demo is online only so you will need Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus to partake, PC gamers enjoying the demo need nothing but an internet connection.

All progress from the VIP Demo will carry over to the normal game and participants will get a free in-game token as thanks for playing the demo. Demo players start at Level 10 and have access to the Ranger Javelin and another Javelin of their choice. Players can enjoy a few missions, one dungeon, and a small part of the open game world to explore. Bioware has noted that the demo will have some significant differences compared to the full game including starting players "in the middle," no tutorials, no pilot picker, balance is "super different," the economy is "completely different," and the demo will have 6-weeks fewer bug fixes applied.
