Apple Brings New Features And New Pricing To iPod Touch And iPod Nano

Yesterday's Apple keynote was primarily about the iPhone. No surprise there, given that the event was called "Let's Talk iPhone." But Apple still took the opportunity to introduce new features and new prices to the iPod touch and iPod nano lines. Now, the iPod touch will be available in both black and white starting at just $199, and they'll both support the company's new iOS 5 and iCloud services. The new iPod nano is available today starting at just $129 and features a redesigned user interface, 16 new digital clock faces and improved built-in fitness features; both models are available in silver, graphite, blue, green, orange and pink.

What's interesting about the nano is that Apple actually included new clock models in order to make those iPod nano watch bands more useful. It's a smooth move from Apple to embrace that third-party market, and they'll almost certainly sell more as people seek to use nanos as watches. The fact that iMessage and iCloud is coming to the iTouch also proves that Apple isn't drifting away from the iPod line anytime soon. Granted, sales of them are slipping as they reach saturation, but there are still plenty of markets to cover. Onward and upward, as they say.
