Apple Now Selling Refurbished 15" Retina MacBook Pro Models Starting at $1,869

If you've been following the news, then you know Congress managed to avoid driving us over the so-called "fiscal cliff," at least for now. Great, job well done and all that jazz. But for many Americans, money is still tight, and we're all paying over three bucks a gallon at the pump. Perhaps now is not the time to jump out of your seat and buy one of Apple's fancy new MacBook Pro models with Retina Display, but if you're determined to do so, you can save a little coin by going with a refurbished model.

A 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro typically sells for $2,200 retail, but now you can snag one at a significant 15 percent discount, provided you don't mind buying refurbished. They just started appearing on Apple's website with a starting price of $1,869.

That gets you a system with an Intel Core i7 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 8GB of DDR3L-1600 memory, 256GB solid state drive, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics, 720p FaceTime HD camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two Thunderbolt ports, HDMI output, two USB 3.0 ports, SDXC card slot, and stereo speakers.

Even though these are refurbished systems, Apple packages them like new products and backs them with a 1-year AppleCare warranty.
