Arma 3 Free To Play This Weekend, Discounted 50 Percent Until Monday

Depending on where you live, it's starting to get a bit chilly outside as winter looms right around the corner (we can see you shaking your head in agreement in the midwest and east coast). The bitter air can make you want to stay inside with the heat cranked up, but what is there to do for entertainment? Well, if you're into PC games, fire up Arma 3 on Steam -- it's free to play for the entire weekend.

"In support of the Make Arma Not War contest, you can temporarily play Arma 3 for free, and pick it up with a massive 50 percent discount on Steam -- this weekend only!," publisher/developer Bohemia Interactive posted to its Arma 3 page on Facebook.

Arma 3

The Make Arma Not War promotion is a content creation contest with four categories to compete in: Total Modification, Single Player Game Mode, Multiplayer Game Mode, and Add-on. Submissions are now closed, though if you've already entered, you have until October 28, 2014 to edit your information.

As for Arma 3, it's an open-world, tactical shooter game that takes place in the future. There's a wide variety of single-player and multiplayer content, along with over 20 vehicles and 40 weapons.

Arma 3 normally sells for $60, though if you try it out and like it, you can grab the game on sale for $30 until October 27, or $32.50 for the Digital Deluxe Edition. The latter comes with a digital soundtrack, a map, and tactical guide.
