ASRock’s Entire Intel Z390 9th Gen Core Motherboard Lineup Leaks

Is it October yet? No? Well that stinks! It's not that we're trying to speed up time and hasten our brief (in the cosmic sense) stay on this rock, we're just looking forward to Intel finally launching its 9th generation Core processor line, if for no other reason than to stop being flooded with related leaks. Many of them have been in relation to upcoming motherboards based on Intel's Z390 Express chipset. As we head into the homestretch, it would appear that ASRock's entire lineup of Z390 boards has leaked to the web.

Just last week, an official-looking press render of ASRock's Z390 Phantom Gaming 9 motherboard started making the rounds. Speculation is that it will be ASRock's flagship Z390 motherboard, bringing with it three reinforced PCI Express x16 slots, three M.2 slots for fast NVMe storage, and even three Ethernet ports, one of which supports 10Gbps connections.

That is just one of many Z390 boards that ASRock will be introducing. A fresh leak reveals eight more models with varying feature sets. They include the following SKUs:
  • ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4
  • ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming SLI/AC
  • ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/AC
  • ASRock Z390 Extreme4
  • ASRock Z390 Taichi
  • ASRock Z390 Pro4
  • ASRock Z390M Pro4
  • ASRock Z390M-ITX/AC

There's a little something for everyone. In some cases, it's literally a little something—three of ASRock's upcoming Z390 motherboards are small form factor slabs of silicon traces, including two mini-ITX boards and a slightly bigger micro-ATX board.

Many of the upcoming motherboards feature at least one reinforced PCI Express slot. The higher end models typically come with a fixed I/O shield and beefier heatsinks, along with better VRM implementations.

All of these motherboards will support Intel's 9th generation Core CPU lineup, including it's three higher end SKUs:
  • Core i9-9900K: 8 cores / 16 threads, 3.6GHz to 5GHz, 16MB L3 cache, 95W TDP
  • Core i7-9700K: 8 cores / 8 threads, 3,6GHz to 4.9GHz, 12MB L3 cache, 95W TDP
  • Core i5-9600K: 6 cores / 6 threads, 3.7GHz to 4.6GHz, 9MB L3 cache, 95W TDP
It's rumored that the above models will launch first, followed by more than a dozen lower end CPUs sometime afterward.
