Earlier this month, ASUS launched the ZenBook Flip 14 convertible complete with 8th generation Intel Core processors and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. Today, the company is extending those hardware goods to a more traditional laptop form-factor with the ZenBook 13 UX331.

The ZenBook 13 UX331 is an all-new laptop for ASUS, and is being described as the "world's thinnest laptop with discrete graphics." Like the ZenBook Flip 14, the ZenBook 13 makes use of a 8th generation Core processor; in this case, the Core i5-8250. Likewise, the GeForce MX150 GPU is also carried over to this ultraportable laptop.

The Pascal-based GPU outputs to a 13.3-inch 1920x1080 NanoEdge touchscreen display (178-degree viewing angles, 100% sRGB, ASUS Pen support). Other major specs include 8GB of LPDDR3-2133 memory, a 256GB SATA hard drive, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2. When it comes to physical connections, you'll find a USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and a microSD card reader.

As for the audio experience, ASUS has this to say:

The powerful Harman Kardon-certified audio system in the ZenBook 13 features the next generation of ASUS SonicMaster technology. With its tailored mix of superior hardware — including low-distortion smart-amplifier technology that can boost volume by up to 3.5X — and cleverly designed software, the ZenBook 13 delivers a solid audio experience.

The ZenBook 13 of course features an aluminum unibody construction, has an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio, is just 13.9mm thick, and weighs only 2.47 pounds. The laptop incorporates a full-size backlit keyboard with 1.4mm key travel, and a Windows Precision Touchpad with built-in palm rejection. There's even a fingerprint sensor incorporated into the keyboard deck that supports Windows Hello.

The ZenBook 13 UX331 is available now in Royal Blue priced at $999 from popular retailers like Amazon and Newegg.
