ASUS Packs AMD Ryzen 3000 CPUs And GTX 1660 Ti Into ROG, TUF Gaming Laptops

ASUS TUF Gaming
ASUS is ready to deliver some potent laptop gaming goodness to customers in the coming months that feature the best of both worlds: mobile AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors and the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX Turing-based GPUs.

This information comes courtesy of noted leaker TUM APISAK, who posted his findings to Twitter. Two models are detailed in a 3DMark result that was found, and they include the ASUS ROG GU502DU and the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DU.

The ROG GU502DU comes packing a Ryzen 7 3750H processor (4 cores, 8 threads). As we already know, this 35W processor has a base clock of 2.3GHz, but can boost to 4GHz. Even though the APU has integrated Radeon Vega graphics, ASUS is pumping up the graphics potential of the laptop with the newly introduced GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with Max-Q.

Coming in at the lower end of the spectrum is the TUF Gaming FX505DU, which has a Ryzen 5 3550H processor (4 cores, 8 threads). This particular processor has a base clock of 2.1GHz and a boost clock of 3.7GHz. This APU too has onboard Radeon Vega graphics, but adds in a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (sans Max-Q support).

It should be noted that unlike the Ryzen 3000 desktop processors, which are based on 7nm Zen 2 architecture, the Ryzen 3000 notebook processors are a 12nm Zen+ design.

As for the mobile version of the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, you can get an idea for what kind of performance this eSports-oriented GPU will deliver for laptop gamers by checking out the HotHardware review of its desktop counterpart.
