Asus Proclaims EeeKeyboard's Status As Not-Vaporware, Reveals Full Specs
We're trying not to really get our hopes up this time, but it sounds
like Asus may actually pull the trigger on the EeeKeyboard once and for
all. This might just be the most hyped and long-awaited product from
Asus in the company's entire history, and given that they have managed
to put a PC into a keyboard, we understand why.
The device has missed numerous ship dates already, and it has seen the specifications list change once or twice along the way. It's been a wild, wild journey for the EeeKeyboard, but a new press release from Asus makes it all but certain that we'll finally see it shipping soon to end-users. Seen as far back in the public eye as CeBIT 2009, this EeeKeyboard PC is equipped with Windows XP Home, a 5" 800x480 multi-touch panel, Intel's Atom N270 (1.6GHz; single-core), 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 16GB or 32GB SSD, Ultra-Wideband wireless technology, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1 and a Broadcom video decoder.
You'll definitely need that last item, as the HDMI output pretty much guarantees that you'll be using this as a makeshift HTPC. The company's still not making any promises when it comes to ship dates and prices, but we'd guess Computex will reveal both of those.
