ASUS ROG Strix, Dual, And Turbo GeForce RTX 2070 Cards Stoke Geek Lust

ASUS has rolled out some new video cards that are aiming directly at the wallets of gamers everywhere. The new cards include the ROG Strix, Dual, and Turbo GeForce RTX 2070 graphics cards, all of which use GDDR6 memory and include Virtual Link tech that lets gamers using a VR headset connect with one cable.

The ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2070 uses three wing-blade fans that have hubs 9% smaller than normal fans along for larger fan blades. That means the fans can move more air than similarly sized fans to keep the card cool. The fans also have an IP5X certification for dust resistance, and the fan controllers support a 0dB mode that stops the fans altogether when possible.

ASUS fits the Strix flavor with a metal brace to reduce the tension on the PCB. Other premium features include Aura Sync-compatible RGB LEDs and FanConnect II headers for hybrid fan control that takes into account CPU and GPU temperatures. Auto-Extreme tech is a special manufacturing process that ASUS uses that solders through-hole and surface-mounted components in a single stage reducing the thermal strain on components and needing no hard chemicals.

ASUS' Dual GeForce RTX 2070 Dual is a 2.7-slot footprint card that uses a larger heatsink to provide a 50% larger surface area for cooling. That larger heatsink allows for better cooling and gives gamers and enthusiasts more overclocking headroom. ASUS' last card is the Turbo GeForce RTX 2070, and it is designed from the ground up for gamers who want multiple GPUs inside or have cases with obstructions that reduce airflow. This card is fitted with design features that improve airflow through the shroud and increase reliability. The 80mm IP5X rated fans have a dual-bearing design and a new shroud that allows more air into the cooler. The video cards will be available globally in Q4 2018.
