Asus X77 Laptop To Have Core i5, Mobility Radeon HD 5730

We recently had the chance to review an Asus gaming notebook with a mobile Core i7 within, and needless to say, we were rather blown away. If the trend continues, we're guessing the upcoming X77 will be just as impressive. Of course, Asus has yet to come forward and confirm that this machine is in fact a product it plans to produce, but the evidence is certainly mounting.

Fudzilla has discovered that the 17.3" gaming machine will soon be unveiled officially, bringing with it a Core i5-430M processor (32nm dual-core) along with a new ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730. That model number is a new one on us, but we're guessing that it will perform just under the existing 5750 card. One tidbit we do know: the GPU will likely rely on DDR3 memory and not GDDR5, presumably because this will be sort of a "bargain" gaming machine.

Other known specifications (rumored, at least) include two 500GB hard drives, an eSATA port, HDMI output, 4GB of RAM and a 17.3" panel with a 1600x900 resolution. We shouldn't have to wait too much longer to get the official word from Asus, with an estimated street date of January 2010 and a price of around 1000 Euros.
