ASUS ZenBook S UX391: The 4K, 1TB PCIe Ultraportable You Are Looking For

ASUS rolls out cool stuff at Computex each year and this year has been no exception. The company already unveiled the ROG Gaming Phone that has 512GB of storage and ultrasonic triggers among its slick specifications. ASUS also rolled out a pair of gaming laptops at the show with the Strix Hero II and SCAR II Coffee Lake machines, and is now reaching out to the ultraportable crowd looking for a notebook with performance in an easy to tote package with an updated version of the ZenBook S.

One of the most notable features of the ZenBook S is the new ErgoLift hinge that is designed to increase typing comfort, cooling, and audio performance. It does that by angling the keyboard at 5.5-degrees when opened for comfortable typing and to allow air to circulate under the chassis. The machine is offered in two appealing colors including Deep Dive Blue and Burgundy Red. The ZenBook S has three USB-C ports with all three able to charge devices and two of them supporting Thunderbolt 3 packed into a 12.9mm thick body weighing just 2.3 pounds.

That means the ultraportable has support for dual 4K external displays and an external GPU. The processor is an Intel Core i7-8550U with quad cores and support for eight threads paired up with 16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 RAM, while up to 1TB of PCIe x4 SSD can be installed. Buyers can opt for a display with up to 4K resolution covering 100% of sRGB color space and offering a 1500:1 contrast ratio. That display is surrounded by NanoEdge bezels that are 5.9mm thick giving an 85% screen-to-body ratio.

ASUS will ship the ZenBook S UX391 on June 11 at an MSRP of $1199 via Amazon and other retailers.
