Atari Rolls Out More Retro Goodness With Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic For Android And iOS

When Chris Sawyer's RollerCoaster Tycoon hit the PC back in 1999, the world couldn't have expected what kind of masterpiece it would be. It's not perfect, but the fact that it gave anyone and everyone reigns over complex theme parks and wild rides drew people in by the millions. And now, that same gameplay that hooked people nearly 18-years-ago is back, and it's on mobile.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 01

Released for a meager $5.99, RollerCoaster Tycoon takes the best elements of the first two games to create a robust mobile port that's sure to hook you for hours (or even dozens of hours, for that matter!)

Based on its preview screenshots, RCT on mobile looks almost no different than RCT on the PC. However, when you look closer, you will see a number of areas that the game has been fine-tuned in to make it more suitable for mobile, such as with the individual management screens. With those, fonts are made bigger. If 256 people need to skip to the loo, you won't have to squint to see it.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 03

As with the original games, you have the option to build a park from the ground-up, or play through different scenarios - of which there are a healthy 95 to choose from. If you're enterprising enough, you can even craft your own coasters, but if you'd rather just stick with premade designs, you can do that, too.
