Athlon 64 FX-53 & Athlon 64 3800+ Socket 939 Processor Review @ Sharky Extreme
"The introduction of the AMD64 line of processors was a rousing success on many levels, but there were a few niggling issues to address. The Athlon 64 FX-51 940-pin represented the new high-end of the processor scale, featured a powerful dual-channel memory controller, and supported both 32 and 64-bit software, but it could only use registered DDR. This was a carryover from its Opteron roots, and resulted in consumers not only having to shell out more money for registered DDR, but also contending with non-standard DDR that could not be transitioned to other AMD or Intel desktop systems. AMD subsequently upgraded the line to the higher-clocked Athlon 64 FX-53, but the issue of registered DDR support remained."

"When we reported about the new Electrolux Trilobite 2.0 Vacuum robot last Friday, we asked the question why this vacuum robot ($1,799 at Amazon.com) is about 10 times more expensive than the iRobot Roomba ($159.99 at Amazon.com). We got several great answers and first hand experience reports emailed from I4U readers. We published the most interesting ones."
"The AutoTuning is enabled by selecting a percentage overclock, in our tests we used 5% because anything over that caused the system to lock up when the overclock occurred. This means that the bios would overclock the HyperTransport and internal buses by 5%: from 200 MHz to 210 MHz. This would thereby increase the core clock to 2520 MHz and increase the HT bus to 1050 MHz as well."
"From an all-around perspective, the Roku HD1000 still feels like it's in a development stage. There are so many possibilities with the HD1000 and we hope that developers take advantage to the open-source operating system. We would like to see more advanced features and audio format compatibility in the future as well as support for Apple iTunes play lists. We are unsure as to what laws and guidelines Roku Labs needs to follow when it comes to playing video content, but we would like to see a stronger presence in this feature as well."

"The board is more or less the same as the ATI reference X800 PRO, using the same PCB design and the reference cooler. This particular version doesn't feature any video in functionality, hence there is no Rage Theater chip on the board, or is there the internal VIVO connector as seen on the ATI reference boards (next to the internal power supply connector. The only other differences noticeable are the purple power supply connector and a different sticker on the heat-sink!"
