ATI Delays Radeon X1900 GTO

Fudo over at The Inquirer reports that ATI's Radeon X1900 GTO which was slated to launch the end of this month has been delayed. With supply of the Radeon X1800 GTO which we reviewed diminishing in the channel, ATI needs this card to fill the price-point until they can launch the RV560 and RV570 GPUs. Unfortunately, we now know these GPU's are slightly delayed as well as they will not be made at 80u as planned and instead need to be transitioned over to a 90u process.

The X1900 GTO is even more expensive to produce, but it is meant to hold its space until the new golden kids named RV560 and RV570 come to market. ATI simply wants to shake up Nvidia's mainstream dominancy and it is doing it fine. Or it would be. We don't know when ATI will be ready to ship the X1900 GTO but we're guwessing on the first weeks of May.
