AT&T Offers $39 U-Verse Bundle With TV, HBO, U-Verse Internet and Amazon Prime
The vast majority of three-piece bundles from cable companies include Internet, television channels, and landline phone service rolled into a single package. That's fine and dandy, but there are a growing number of cord cutters who have no interest in a landline, or even full blown cable or satellite TV service for the matter. Kudos to AT&T for partnering with HBO and Amazon to offer a different kind of package.
Starting at $39 per month, you can get AT&T U-verse high-speed Internet, U-verse TV, HBO, and a year of Amazon Prime service, the latter of which is a $99 value by itself. Yes, it's the full Amazon Prime experience, which means free 2-day shipping on millions of qualifying items, discounted 1-day shipping, unlimited streaming to its catalog of TV shows and movies, Prime music (unlimited streaming of over a million songs), and the right to borrow books from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library.
The caveat? You have to sign a one-year service agreement. However, that beats services like DirecTV, where you're on the hook for 2 years with discounted rates only applying to the first year. Granted, after your contract is up, the $39 price might go up, though you're free to bail at that point (if you leave early, there's a $180 early termination charge).
