Batman: Arkham Knight Digital And Retail Box Sales To Resume Later This Month

To say that WB Games release of Batman: Arkham Knight for the PC was a disaster would be putting it lightly. The game was released early in the summer and was riddled with bugs, performance issues and gameplay maladies that made angered gamers. WB Games screwed up so badly with Batman: Arkham Knight that it took drastic actions by actually pulling the games off store shelves and disabling digital downloads from Steam in late June.

"We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC,” said WB Games at the time. “We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards.”

Over the past few months, developer Rocksteady Studios has worked tirelessly to issue software patches to give relief to customers that had already purchased the game and to ready the title for a rerelease sometime in the future (this dispute the fact that WB Games was warned about the serious problems facing the PC title well ahead of its launch).

Today, we’re learning that Rocksteady Studios is nearly finished in polishing up Batman: Arkham Knight so that it can shine on the PC platform like it should have on day one. “As many of you know, we released a major patch for Batman: Arkham Knight PC a few weeks ago. While there were significant performance improvements made to the game, the teams are continuing to work on the additional updates that were outlined in our previous post,” wrote WB Games in a Steam Community posting.

“We expect these updates to be ready at the end of October, at which time the PC version will be made available for purchase.”

This is definitely welcome news for gamers that have been strung along for the past few months, as performance and gameplay slowly rises to acceptable levels. And for those eager Batman fans that have sat back and watched the fireworks explode while WB Games and Rocksteady Studios got their acts together, you will soon be able to purchase a [hopefully] component game by month’s end.
