If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Battlefield 1 and have salivated over gameplay footage from alpha build of the game, the wait is nearly over. Electronic Arts announced today that the public beta for Battlefield 1 will officially open its doors to all on August 31st on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Better yet, if you join the Battlefield Insider program — which is free to join — you can access the beta ten days earlier on August 21st. While the beta will of course be extremely limited in scope compared to what will be available in the final game, you will have access to Conquest and Rush multiplayer gaming modes on the Sinai Desert map. In addition, you’ll be able to battle it out with up to 64 players and even hop on a horse to unleash destruction on your opponents.

“Since the unveiling of Battlefield 1 in May, fans have been clamoring for a taste of the all-out-war experience that the backdrop of World War 1 provides,” writes EA. “Bring a horse to a tank fight, or rain down machine gun fire on enemy positions with the heavily armored Sentry.”

And just to get you even more hyped up for the release of this World War 1-based game, EA has also released a stunning new trailer with plenty of gritty gaming action.

Battlefield 1 officially launches worldwide on October 21st for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. However, those that pre-order the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition can access the game three days earlier.
