Latest Battlefield V Trailer Highlights Gritty Single Player Campaign
In a little over five weeks from now, Battlefield V will land on PC and consoles in finished form, bringing with it both multiplayer and single player action. Publisher Electronic Arts released a new trailer that shows off elements of the latter. It's a little over two minutes long and gives a glimpse of the various War Stories that will comprise the single player campaign.
"Discover the untold stories of World War 2 with Battlefield V's single player War Stories. In Nordlys, resist German occupation in Norway, sabotage behind enemy lines as an unlikely English soldier in Under No Flag, fight for a home you've never seen in Tirailleur, and in The Last Tiger (available in December) join the crew of a Tiger I as they question why they fight," EA states in the trailer's description.
The single player campaign is broken up into four War Stories: Nordlys, Under No Flag, Tirailleur, and The Last Tiger, each of which offers up a different setting and styles of combat. It's not clear if the four War Stories will be roughly equal in length or difficulty, and the new trailer doesn't provide any clues as to such.
What we do know is that each of the four War Stories is entirely separate and stand on their own. This is how Electronic Arts presented the single player campaign in Battlefield 1. They are all inspired by real life events, but not based on actual ones.
Interestingly, the final War Story, The Last Tiger, places the player on the German side. This is something Electronic Arts avoided doing in Battlefield 1 for the single player story campaign. It will not launch alongside the rest on November 20, and instead will roll out as DLC in December.
