Bethesda Releases Fallout 4 Gameplay Footage At E3, Huzzah!

The Fallout 4 hype has hit epic levels in the past few weeks, and Bethesda simply knocked it out of the park last night by delivering some fresh details on the game along with a boatload of footage from the upcoming game. For starters, Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 4 will launch November 10 on the two leading current generation gaming consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) as well as the PC on November 10, so mark your calendars.

As for the game itself, Fallout 4 has been baking in the oven since the launch of Fallout 3 back in 2009. Six years is a damn long time to develop a new game, and although some fans have dogged the Fallout 4 for somewhat unimpressive graphics, there’s plenty about the game to love. For starters, Fallout 4 will feature a deep customization engine that allows you to take design the look of your character (male or female this time around) before the apocalypse — that’s right, the events of Fallout 4 kickoff on a lovely Saturday morning before everything goes to hell in a hand basket. There’s also a new dialog system that allows you to step away from yapping NPCs at any time during a conversation. It’s not exactly the polite thing to do, but sometimes you’ve got more pressing matters to attend to.

In addition, Bethesda confirmed Boston as the physical setting for Fallout 4, and the city has been recreated using an updated version of the Creation Engine. You’ll also be happy to know that there will be over 50 base weapons in Fallout 4 along with over 700 mods for your weapons and armor. That should keep the Fallout faithful busy for quite some time.

We should also point out that in addition the standard edition of Fallout 4, there will also be a “Pip-Boy Edition” that will retail for $119.99. This version of the game will be available in limited quantities and will come with the Fallout 4 game in a special metal case, an actual replica of the Pip-Boy (which will work in conjunction with your smartphone), a Pip-Boy metal capsule case, a Pip-Boy pocket guide, and a Vault-Tech Perk poster.

And for Fallout fans that simply can’t wait until November, Bethesda has released Fallout Shelter, which will allow you to take command of your own nuclear shelter and the community within. The title looks to be fairly deep for a mobile game, although for now, it’s limited to iOS which is a huge bummer for Fallout fans that are partial to the Android operating system.
