Blu Vivo X Flagship Phone Debuts With Four Cameras And Attractive $250 Price

Blu Products might not be the most recognizable brand in the world, but the company has a history of releasing reasonably spec'd Android phones at attractive price points. The latest phone to emerge from Blu Products is the Vivo X. What stands out about the company's newest flagship phone is that it has not just one or two cameras, but four of them, including two on the front and two on the back.

Since camera performance is the point of emphasis, we'll start there. The Vivo X feeds into our narcissistic desire to splatter social media with selfies with a dual camera configuration on the front of the phone. One of the cameras is a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens. This is paired with an 8-megapixel 120-degree wide-angle camera for when you want to share the spotlight with the surrounding scenery (and/or take group selfies).

The main camera features real-time HDR and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) with laser focus for "twice the focus rate and accuracy."

So yeah, Blu Products is pretty excited about its new phone's overall camera performance. Moving on, the Vivo X sports a 6-inch HD+ display with a 1440x720 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The front of the phone is constructed with curved Gorilla Glass.

Underneath the hood is a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor clocked at 2.6GHz and 4GB of RAM. For storage, users get 64GB built into the device, plus there is a microSD card slot to add even more. Users will also appreciate that the capacious 4,010 mAh batter with Quick Charge support is removable.

The phone ships with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box rather than Android 8.0 Oreo, which is a bummer. However, it's hard to find too much fault at the asking price. The phone is currently on sale on Amazon for $250 (an initial batch sold for $200), versus its regular $300 selling price.

Amazon, you say? The online retailer had briefly suspended phones from Blu Products last summer over a security scare, but it turned out to be a false alarm. Amazon resumed sales just a few days later and has been selling Blu Products' phones ever since.
