Bluetooth To Ride Intel's Ultrawideband
As expected, the Bluetooth SIG has chosen to piggyback on the Intel-backed WiMedia version of ultrawideband technology.
Crafting the necessary specifications will take time, however. Bluetooth SIG members said they now expect the standard to be complete by the first quarter of 2007, with prototypes due by that fall. The first Bluetooth-over-WiMedia products are expected by early 2008, Michael Foley, chairman of the SIG, told reporters in a teleconference Tuesday morning.
