Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Mob of The Dead Trailer Teases Zombie Frag Fest in Alcatraz

Let's face it: if there's one aspect of gaming that's a bit lacking, it's zombies. To help remedy this obvious void, Call of Duty: Black Ops II developer Treyarch is packing-in a zombie-filled story mode in its upcoming DLC, dubbed "Uprising". If you're already familiar with the base game (which we reviewed at launch), then you're no doubt aware that there already exists a mode for the zombie-killer in all of us. But there was no real story to speak of there, which some considered to be its primary flaw.

Uprising includes four multiplayer maps including a reinvisioning of "Firing Range" (now called Studio), with its zombie portion called Mob of the Dead - where "mob" refers to the mobster playable characters. You and three comrades are imprisoned on Alcatraz, all hell breaks lose, and escaping is made difficult thanks to the flurry of undead. The only solution, clearly, is violence. Lots of it.

The fact that Mob of the Dead takes place in Alcatraz is cool enough, but add to that the fact that the four playable characters are voiced by some very convincing people. Ray Liotta, for starters, and Chazz Palminteri, Michael Madsen and Joe Pantoliano for good measure.

In terms of standard DLC, Uprising looks to be rather incredible. CoD fans have become used to receiving only four maps with each piece of DLC, but Treyarch has really gone the extra mile here.

Uprising appears first on the Xbox 360 (April 16th), with other platforms to follow shortly after.
