Canon's Flagship PIXMA MX892 Embraces Cloud-based Printing
Canon today announced its PIXMA MX892 Wireless Office All-In-One (AIO) printer, the new flagship model that purports to do everything under the sun, including spitting out documents and images it receives from the cloud and other compatible portable devices. It does this through Google Cloud Print and Canon's own PIXMA Cloud Link.
"With users increasingly utilizing the cloud to store important documents and images, it is imperative to provide an easy way for these materials to be printed easily when they are needed," said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A. "The variety of connectivity options supported by the PIXMA MX892 Office All-in-One printer allows the flexibility to do just that, and provides the users with the comfort of knowing that the end result will be high-quality."
The PIXMA MX892 taps into your network via integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi, which can be setup with the press of a single button using Wireless Protected Setup (WPS). There's also an Ethernet port for those who prefer to roll old school with a wired connection.
As for printing, the PIXMA MX892 supports a maximum color resolution of 9600x2400 dpi. There's a 3-inch LCD screen to preview images and generate a 4-inch x 6-inch borderless photo in about 60 seconds, Canon says, along with a built-in scanner that supports up to a 2400x4800 dpi resolution. The MX892 prints up to 12.5 images per minute in black and white, and about 9.3 images per minute for color.
The PIXMA MX892 is available now for $200.
