Children Misunderstand Importance of Fruit, Prefer Apple Macs to PCs

Worried about today's youth? You damn well should be. According to a new study by Harris Interactive, Macs are cooler than PCs among teens 13-24 years old. Whether you're talking about computers, tablets, or mobile phones, kids are all about Apple, the brand that ranked highest among American teens in their respective categories.

This is part of the legacy that Steve Jobs leaves behind, an entire generation infatuated with Apple devices who will one day be adults shaping the electronic landscape.

"This is very good news for Apple and indicates that their masterbrand is very strong," said Jeni Lee Chapman, Executive Vice President of Harris' Brand and Communication Consulting practice shares. "To have this kind of significant edge among 13-24 year olds signifies that Apple has built a powerful equity base among their customers of today and their customers of tomorrow. "Brands often struggle to maintain relevancy among different generations. This data shows that this is not going to be an issue for Apple."

It's not really surprising that a teenager would prefer an iPod over a Zune, or an iPad over a PlayBook, but a Mac over a PC? Really? You better believe it, and if you're Microsoft, you better be figuring out a way to appeal to a younger audience before it's too late.
