Colorful's iGame GeForce RTX 2080 Ti KUDAN Steampunk-Inspired Gaming Beast Gets Priced
The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is not a cheap graphics card by any stretch of the imagination—NVIDIA charges $1,199 for its overclocked Founders Edition, and set the MSRP for reference models at $999. Hardware partners are free to customize the card and charge what they want, and for Colorful, that meant designing a unique variant that is around $800 more than the Founders Edition model.
Colorful is not a brand that is all that popular in the United States, but is active in other markets, such as China. The company recently made headlines around the globe, however, for its iGame GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Kudan, an industrial looking card that would be right at home in a steampunk setting.
This is a limited edition SKU, with Colorful only planning to make 1,000 of these cards. That is a very low number in the grand scheme of things, even for a flagship part that costs a pretty penny. In this case, the iGame GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Kudan costs a whole bunch of pretty pennies—a retailer in China is taking preorders for the card for 19,999 Chinese Yuan, which is equivalent to around $3,000 in US currency.
That is a premium price for sure, and it reflects both the elite makeup of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, along with the special design and limited production run. Colorful's card is also factory overclocked—it boosts to 1,800MHz, compared to 1,635MHz for a Founders Edition model and 1,545MHz for a card based on NVIDIA's reference specs.
To keep things cool, Colorful outfitted its Kudan card with a triple-slot cooler. It's a hybrid air and water cooling solution, with three fans blasting air onto the card's giant aluminum radiator and several heatpipes. It appears the liquid cooling portion is an all-in-one solution, so you don't need to incorporate the card into a custom water cooling loop.
There's also a metal backplate on the rear, that is individually numbered, three 8-pin PCIe power connectors, and an LCD display on top for glancing vital stats, such as clockspeeds and temps.
In short, this is a premium card in every sense of the word, with a price tag to match.
