Corsair MP600 M.2 SSD Is PCIe 4.0 And AMD X570 Ready With Read Speeds Up To 4,950MB/s

Corsair has just unveiled a smoking fast new SSD at Computex 2019 called the MP600 M.2 SSD. The is PCIe 4.0-ready, which means that it will deliver its best performance when paired with AMD X570 motherboards. The SSD offers 4,950MB/sec sequential read speeds when used in PCIe 4.0 slots. Corsair says that is ten times the performance of many SATA SSDs and fifty times faster than some traditional hard drives.

The faster PCIe 4.0 slots will be available for the first time as part of the AMD X570 chipset and third-gen AMD Ryzen processors. The M600 SSD uses high-density 3D TLC NAND with a Phision PS5016-E16 controller to enable a new level of single-drive SSD performance. While the sequential reads approach 5,000MB/sec, sequential write speeds are rated at up to 4,250MB/sec (which is still incredibly fast).

The MP600 NVMe PCIe x4 M.2 SSD will launch alongside the launch of the AMD X570 chipset motherboards and Ryzen 3000 processors in early June. Corsair offers a 5-year warranty, and worldwide customer service and tech support on the SSD; Corsair is mum on pricing at this time for the MP600.

Corsair also announced "wide-ranging" compatibility across its full line of products for the new AMD X570 chipset and the coming 3rd-gen Ryzen processors. That means it has power supplies, all-in-one liquid CPU coolers, PC cases, SSDs, and performance DDR4 RAM. Corsair unveiled a pair of new gaming mice including the Ironclaw RGB wireless mouse and Glaive RGB Pro last month.

Earlier this week, Gigabyte also announced its first PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, which promises to deliver read/write speeds of 5,000MB/sec.
