Cyberpunk 2077 Looks Amazing In These New Screenshots Released At Gamescom 2019

Cyberpunk 2077
Anticipation for the eventual launch of Cyberpunk 2077 seemingly grows by the day. A new batch of screenshots from CD Projekt RED at Gamescom further adds to the excitement for what is described as an "ambitious RGP for mature audiences," set to release in about eight months (barring any delays, of course).

CD Projekt RED posted the screenshots to its Facebook page for the game, and the reactions have been overwhelmingly positive.

"The more I see of this game the more and more I want it. Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be amazing and [I] can't believe it comes out on my wedding anniversary. Too great day for me and Cyberpunk," one user wrote.

Word of advice for the person who posted that comment, though—focus on the wedding anniversary first, and Cyberpunk 2077 second. Unless his significant other happens to also be a gamer. Then by all means, spend the day playing the game, and the night, well, you know.

As many of you reading this probably already know, Cyperpunk 2077 comes from the same development studio responsible for The Witcher series (though it won't be like The Witcher 3). Player will face difficult decisions throughout the game, each with consequences.

On the graphics side of the equation, Cyberpunk 2077 will incorporate real-time ray tracing, presumably at launch.

"Cyberpunk 2077 is an incredibly ambitious game, mixing first person perspective and deep role-playing, while also creating an intricate and immersive world in which to tell this story. We believe the world of Cyberpunk will greatly benefit from the realistic lighting that ray tracing delivers," said Matt Wuebbling, head of GeForce marketing at NVIDIA.

We have already seen a bunch of sample shots with ray tracing enabled. From bouncing beams of neon lights to reflective surfaces and objects, the urban landscape appears to be an appropriate backdrop for ray-traced visuals.

Adding to the anticipation, actor Keanu Reeves made a surprise debut at E3 to reveal his John Wick-like role in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyperpunk 2077 is available to preorder now for $59.99 and is slated to launch on April 15, 2020.
