Dell Rolls Out Gorgeous Updated UltraSharp 30 And Curved 34-Inch Monitors

We've had good experiences with Dell's large size UltraSharp monitors over the years, which combine big screens with accurate color reproduction and bright visuals. Now Dell has two more more models to consider, both of which promise the same level of quality we've grown accustomed to. One is the 34-inch curved panel (U3417W) and the other is a 30-inch flat display (UP3017)

These are two monitors aimed to two different audiences. Starting with the smaller of the two, the 30-inch UP3017 with PremierColor brings color-critical performance to the table for graphics artists and other professionals who depend on precise color reproduction. It offers 99 percent coverage across four color spaces, including AdobeRGB, sRGB, REC 709, and DCI-P3, and can be fine tuned using including software or with an optional X-rite i1Display Pro colorimeter.

Dell UP3017

The UP3017 sports an IPS panel with a 2560x1600 resolution at 60Hz. It also features a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits brightness, 8ms (typical) and 6ms (fast) response times, built-in USB 3.0 hub, and several inputs including two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort, and a mini DisplayPort. The monitor supports height, rotation, swivel, and tilt adjustments.

Dell U3417W

Dell's larger size 34-inch U3417W also boasts an IPS panel, but with an immersive curve and 3440x1440 resolution at 60Hz. Whereas the UP3017 is about pinpoint color accuracy, the U3417W is about enhancing a user's field of vision and getting them in the action.

Other features include a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (1,000:1 typical), 300 nits brightness, 8ms (typical) and 5ms (fast) response times, and the same connectivity options, plus a DisplayPort output.

The U3471W ($1,999.99) and UP3017 ($1,249.99) are both available now direct from Dell.
