Dell Announces UltraSharp 27 4K Monitor UP2718Q With HDR10 Support
Dell is continuing to up its game in the display market, as we witnessed last month with the official launch of the 32-inch 8K UP3218K. That monitor began shipping earlier this week with an eye-popping price tag of $4,999.
Today, Dell is showing off a new display with a much more palatable price tag (though still out of reach for most mainstream consumers). The new UltraSharp 27 (UP2718Q) springs to the forefront with a 4K screen resolution (3840x2160), brightness rating of 1,000 cd/m2, and a contrast ratio of 20,000:1.
The UP2718Q is targeted at creative professionals, and as such supports 100 percent of the Adobe RGB, sRGB and REC 709 color gamuts. It also hits 97.7 percent DCI-P3 and 76.9 percent REC2020. The 10-bit display is also capable of reproducing 1.07 billion colors.
This is also Dell’s first monitor that meets HDR10 standards, gaining UHD Alliance Premium Certification. And when it comes to ports, you’ll find:

The UP2718Q will be available beginning May 23rd with a price tag of $1,999.99.
In addition to the UP2718Q, Dell all announced the UltraSharp 27 4K (U2718Q) and UltraSharp 25 (U2518D) displays. Neither of these displays support HDR10, but are available for a lot less, coming in at $699.99 and $499.99 respectively. Both will be available in mid-July.
Dell also announced that its “Canvas”, which is a Microsoft Surface Studio rival, will be available in July with a starting price of $1,799.
