Leaked Document Hints at 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook Arriving...

RIM has been trudging uphill for a few years, now, but it's not ready to quit yet. The smartphone and tablet maker is still putting out products, if slowly. More than a year after announcing plans to launch a 4G LTE tablet, RIM looks to be just about ready to release it. Whether the extra bandwidth will put a new shine on the struggling tablet is up in the air, but it looks like we might find out soon: a possible document from Bell in Canada suggests next week is the launch date for the 4G LTE version.

It looks as though 4G LTE connectivity will be the defining difference between the new model and the PlayBook on the market. The specs for the current model aren't bad: a 7-inch, 1024x600 WSVGA display, a 1GHz dual-core processor (the new model is rumored to come in at 1.5GHz), 1GB of memory, and storage capacities starting at 16GB. (The new model may only come in a 32GB flavor.) It also includes front and back cameras, and has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Word is that the PlayBook may be available Tuesday for $549.95.
