Here’s Everything EA Unveiled At E3 From Anthem To Jedi: Fallen Order And More

E3 has kicked off and EA's press conference has gone down giving us an idea of what the publisher and its developers are working on. EA talked about some big games at the conference including a new Star Wars title, a sequel to Unravel, and a glimpse at the highly anticipated BioWare game Anthem that lands next February. We learned last week that Crackdown 3 for the Xbox had been delayed and is expected to launch in February as well. The rub with E3's conference for those hoping for something new is that all of the big games were already known.

Perhaps the most anticipated game EA talked about is the BioWare blockbuster Anthem that is coming in February. Executive producer Mark Darrah and lead writer Cathleen Rootsaert say that they are focusing on the story and will be adding things to the game for "years to come." Players will play inside the "Javelin" exo suit, which can be modified to fit the mission or the team you are making. There are no loot boxes in the game, which is good news for most gamers. The exact launch date is February 22, 2019. Check out the E3 demo below for a new look at the game.

The new Star Wars game is called Jedi: Fallen Order and is developed by Respawn. Players will play the game as a Jedi Knight and wield lightsabers. The period where the game is set is said to be "during dark times" between events in the Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope when the Jedi are being hunted down. EA has said the game is, "an original Star Wars story around a surviving Padawan set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Episode III." Jedi: Fallen Order is set to launch holiday 2019, so it's more than a year away.

In other Star Wars news, EA also announced that Battlefront II is getting lots of new features and content this year including a new starfighter mode, a new squad system, new command-post capture mode, new heroes are coming, and maps that come from the Clone Wars will be added. The new heroes including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and General Grievous.

Fans of the original EA game Unravel will be glad to hear of a sequel called Unravel Two. This game adds in co-op capability that fans of the first game will like. Two players can work together using yarn abilities to swing around the environment and avoid hazards. If you prefer to go it alone, you can do that too. If you are excited at the sound of that, you can buy this game right now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

EA also talked about Battlefield V at the conference, that game will have a destructible environment and a battle royale multiplayer mode. The destructible environment means that tanks will be able to shoot through buildings and players will be able to dive-roll through windows. DICE developers talking about the game also reiterated that it will have no annoying loot boxes or premium passes. More details on the battle royale mode will come later this year.

One of the indie titles that got time on stage is called Sea of Solitude and it's from a German studio called Jo-Mei Games and it will launch in early 2019. EA's conference also spent some time on a new entry in a classic franchise with details of Command and Conquer: Rivals. This is a mobile game that on the go gamers should be looking forward to. Rounding out the conference were a trailer for FIFA 19 and Madden Overdrive.
