ECS PF88 Extreme Hybrid Intel/AMD Mobo, OCZ PC3500 GX

Nighttime news is here for your enjoyment. Also available for your enjoyment, is Jason's look at Asetek's WaterChill CPU/VGA/Chipset Power kit. Asetek has been know to make decent products, but is it worth the $349MSRP? Let's found out...

Asetek WaterChill CPU/VGA/Chipset Power kit - KT12AT-L30

"Asetek's latest addition to their WaterChill line of products, the KT12AT-L30, is also known as the WaterChill Extreme Edition. Sporting a massive radiator which hosts three 120mm fans, water blocks for your CPU, VPU, and Chipset, and a pump that moves about 900L/H, this kit seemed very promising. But, as we all know that when it comes to hardware, some products don't perform nearly as good as they're supposed to. Let's see how the WaterChill Extreme Edition fared though, shall we?"

ECS PF88 Extreme Hybrid Intel/AMD Motherboard @ PCstats

"While flexibility is the name of the game in the software world, the computer hardware realm is a lot stricter. AMD and Intel technologies are completely different from each other, so it's impossible to use one product in the other's platform. Or at least that has been the general rule until now... The ECS PF88 Extreme Hybrid motherboard is on our test bench for a thorough examination, and in the configuration pictured it works with either a socket 775 Intel Pentium 4 or socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 processor."

OCZ PC3500 GX @ Neoseeker

"OCZ's PC3500 Gold GX performs quite well for the price, however naturally you should not expect the same level of performance as you would get from their top of the line PC5000 product. I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to run the memory at effectively 450MHz as it was stable at 225MHz, providing a small but appreciated boost from the 433MHz it is rated for."

What Is VoIP and How Does It Work? @ Big Bruin

"Chances are that you have already made a VoIP call without even realizing it. The major phone companies already use VoIP to route thousands of long distance calls through a circuit switch and into an IP gateway. This is then received by a gateway at the other end and then routed to another local circuit switch."

Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300 @ Viperlair

"Performance takes a few forms. If your are a fan of synthetic memory tests than this RAM is significantly better that DDRI and overclocking helps quite a bit. However most of us don't run these tests continuously so we look to the real world results. For the most part there is no significant increase due to DDRII memory."

Canary Wireless Digital Hotspotter @ TechTastic | Image

"Today we take a look at a new next generation WiFi detector from Canary Wireless, their Digital Hotspotter. Not only can it detect opened and closed networks, it can tell you the SSID as well as other information."
